I actually gave these people a card I use to pay my bills and all my info but i knew there was no money on it, I just usually use the card to pay bills and leave it at a 0 balance, thank God I did that, but it was dumb to give them that info...they also prey on senior citizens be aware that it is a SCAM...trying to send me to a western union, I am cancelling that card today...!!
SCAM! They say they are a GOVERNMENT AGENCY and that you "WON" some money. When I tried to call back they and question them, they immediately hung up on me. They are not even AMERICANS! They are of pakistanian decent.
called me and said the goverment is giving me $5000.00 for paying taxes on time. they asked for the last 4 digets of my SS. I refuse to give this information to them.
They called me and said the government was giving me $5600.00 and all i had to do was give them my debit card or prepaid credit card # for them to put it on my account. They sounded like eastern Indian. Of course I hung up on them.
They have been running this scam for years-- the worst part is that they don't lose your number :( I started receiving the calls back in 2009, originally from 202 area code numbers (washington dc). I have done everything from hang up on them, curse them out, and flat out call them on their scam. I wish they would STOP calling me!
