Fake IRS scam. Same as above; threats of legal action and arrest if I don't call them back. Just for the record, the IRS will never call you. They will communicate by mail.
Total scam, called 3 different times, next time acted like a different person, the amount they said I owed each time was $2,850, the last time was the best I told him my name was Scrooge McDuck and they told me I owe $2,850 lol. I informed him that that was a cartoon character and I believe that they are Isis lol. Makes me wonder how many people they've actually scammed out of money.
Message left on voicemail.: This is to inform you that a warrant has been issued for your arrest for tax fraud. Please call this number, 214-491-5672, as soon as possible to avoid further action or arrest.
Fake IRS fraud scam. Caller pretends to be a police officer giving "final notice" of a fraud case being brought by the IRS. I know it's a scam because:
They did not use my name.
The IRS would communicate by mail.
There have been no earlier notices.
I just got a voice message "You have received a legal pettition notice concerning the tax fraud against you. So begore this matter goes to the Federal claims court house or before you get arrested. Please call immediately on our department number 214491567 (not even a real number) to make sure you call us as soon as possible.
I called from my work phone. Foreigner answered the phone "Treasury Department". NOT TEXAS AT ALL!!!
