FAKE Tech Support Scam.  Probably a spoofed number.

I played along with a handful them to hear the variations on this Scam...this one I waited about 30 seconds before i just told them i'm already aware of the event viewer scam and THEY hung up.

Basically, all including this one are FAKE Tech Support Scammers attempting to make you think normal "red" notifications in your windows event logs are "terrible malware and viruses".   They ask you to pull up some event log details in windows (ex. Start --> Run --> eventvwr.exe),
And then ask if you see any "red or yellow" Errors/Warnings...note, these warnings are mostly NORMAL and not a cause for concern about malware/viruses, etc.  But they will scare you into thinking your PC is in eminent danger!

They will then attempt one or more of the following type of financial, security or identify scams:
1. They may simply walk you through deleting them from the log and/or turning off logging so these events are not logged any longer, making you think they fixed your computer....and then insisting on payment for their "services".
2. They will try to convince you that since they were "so helpful" you need to sign up for their BS tech support or buy their software (usually freeware) or other services to make money from you.
3. They will attempt to gain remote access to your PC. This is very dangerous as they can then do all sorts of real damage to your system so you feel you NEED their tech support (they may attempt to delete files/programs/install actual malware/viruses, copy/take your private personal data or files off of your PC, etc).
4. Direct you to a shell site set up for you to enter personal and/or bank or credit card information to pay or or sign up for any of the above just to steal your personal identity/passwords/credit card information or other financial information.

There are so many of these companies doing this.  Most have websites setup to collect your money or identify information. Others simply infect your computer with malware to steal your password and other information.

So far, all that i've heard from seem to rely on the basic premise that 1. they have somehow tracked malware and viruses back to your PC...and 2. then linked it to your phone number AND 3. is very urgent that they help you remove the malware and viruses, 4. They'll imply or right out state that the are from Microsoft Tech Support.

But they are all variations on the same scam and all that I've heard are from callers with an Indian accent.
