I received a call from 214-666-4321 on 09/13/2012 at 1:58pm. It went to voice mail but only static recorded. A different website said it was an unsolicited insurance call number. I have my phone listed with the "No Call" service but obviously that isn't stopping this particular low life!
Check out this informative posting I've created and either submitted or posted here and there just recently ......
As you know, the NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY is ineffective and doesn't stop these intrusive criminals from calling and harassing us. Filing FCC reports has not helped matters either. This matter is only progressively worsening.
Finally there IS something we CAN do about all of these nuisance phone calls perhaps and that’s why I’m even sending this to you to see first hand. Please go to this link which is connected with Consumer Affairs ......

Also, did you know you can just Google a phone number to learn who is calling you? I’ve learned to rely on and use http://800notes.com an easy to use free website to search a phone number on. When I Google a 10 digit telephone number, if I see a result from this website, I know this is a constant nuisance caller that many people have searched.
None of us wants to receive these calls so finally if enough of us complain about it, which is easily done using this online petition, perhaps we'll finally see an end to this intrusive nuisance dilemma that's been uncontrollably plaguing us and our phones for decades.
I’ve been on the DNC Registry for many years but it has NOT done me a bit of good, ever.
I've just done some more research and you'll have to see and read these instructions (see below) for yourself. Once you've read this you'll have this tool to use.
http://www.bidstrup.com/invalidtones.mp3...
You'll recognize the tones on this mp3 recording immediately. So follow these easy instructions below as I just did. Now the greeting my callers hear on my answering device is preceded by the sounds on the attached mp3 and then IMMEDIATELY followed by my standard voice greeting as usual.
"One way to filter calls is to use a telephone answering machine to answer the phone with a special recording. If the answering machine message is preceded by "invalid number" tones, computerized calling machines will falsely sense an invalid number and disconnect you automatically. Many even automatically add your number to their Do Not Call list! You can download a recording of the "invalid number" tones by right-clicking here (you'll get)
http://www.bidstrup.com/phone.htm
From the menu that pops up, you can select "save link as" or "save target as" and save the tone recording to your hard disk. Then, when you're ready to make your telephone answering machine recording, call up WinAmp or whatever software you use for playing MP3 files, find the file, put it in a new play list with only that file, and have the mouse cursor on the play button. When ready, start your answering machine recording, hit Play on WinAmp, and at the conclusion of the tones, give your message, such as "You have reached the _____ residence. Please stay on the line and we'll pick up. If we're not home, you can record your message at the beep." Once you've recorded the tones, play back the recording and make sure that the tones are about as loud as your voice. If they're not loud enough, you'll need to re-record."
In my case, I simply used the Voice Memo app that's on my cell phone and I turned up the volume on my computer's speakers to record what this mp3 plays. Then I played it into my new outgoing greeting on my answering device IMMEDIATELY followed by my standard greeting as usual. That's it. Now I can't wait to see if it works.
A description of the service may be had at URL: http://www.jollyrogertelco.com/
For VoIP purposes, I have the following DNS record:
... IN NAPTR 900 10 "U" "E2U+VOICE" "!.*!tel:+12146664321!" .
Higher priority NAPTR records screen out my valid incoming E.164 telco numbers, so anyone calling an invalid destination trying to use my computer gets routed instead to the JRTCTS (Jolly Roger TelCo Telemarketer Sinkhole).
this is a number you call three way when you have a telemarketer on the line. this number has recordings of a guy that drags on the telemarketer. brilliant!
Hey, thanks for the kind words about the Jolly Roger Telephone service. I got this number sometime after that insurance company gave it up. So for those of you who got calls from this number in 2012, that wasn't me! I am the opposite of a telemarketer!
