I have been getting calls from this number constantly. I would answer the phone and say absolutely nothing, I'd hear a squeak and they'd hang up. Screw whoever they are!
This was from a cell phone and from Texas-- I never answer--especially before 8am which I felt was insensitive of blokes . I have rec'd these calls about windoz viruses for years---but I use a Mac and never use windoz, so I know these are scams. I give the same advice---NEVER answer the phone if you do not know the caller! I thank all the other folks who use this application which I feel is the best on the web.
Same thing. Indian fellow called and said he was from 'Windows' and that my computer was trying to 'hack down'. He realized very quickly that I was not impressed and dropped the call.
These people called me over the last few days. I answered today. SCAM. They said they were from Windows. I almost fell for it. My system just so happened to be updating. I asked why my virus software did not catch it .. he said it was downloaded from hackers thru our internet. It planted small bugs on my pc that have been growing. They can fix it. They will ask you to download supremofree to gain control. They talk a good game. Hang up quickly.
I have caller ID on my phone & the ability to block unwanted calls. Didn't answer and since my computer was on, quickly looked it up. Said Dallas area code. I don't answer any call I don't know - if it is truly for us they will leave a message. After reading the notes it got put on do not call list. They will keep calling on block but my phone will it to either ring one time or not ring at all. I'll probably put it on the do not call lists but letting my phone take care of it keeps me from losing concentration on what I'm doing.
