These dopes called me a lot lately. If you call back it says # disconnected. When i spoke to one person i asked them if they felt good about their lives making phone calls to random people all day. Yep they hung up. Called me back a few hours later and I played a ringtone of a dial up internet sound like a fax or modem. Have not called back yet...maybe that worked! Haha punks
Told these idiots to take me off their list twice. My number has been on the no call list. The guy on the other end said "[***] you" before hanging up. No idea what kind of janky commercial operation these guys run.
I let the call go to voice message, the caller talked in the back ground spelling names, no message then caller put on hold playing music till they disconnected after a prolonged time. I will not pickup or engage the callers, whatever their game is, talking to them must benefit them somehow. I will let it ring until they hang up. I can block up to 20 numbers so I am limited as to how many of these harassing calls are blocked. No help from FCC or any agency the consumer is left to fend for themselves, unfortunately there are many people who fall victim to the scams that are perpetrated using the phone as a gateway into the home.
The lack of ability or willingness of the FCC or any agency, to act in defense of the American public against a clear misuse of the phones in this country is in my mind complicity to the criminal use of phones to harass and victimize people with limited ability to protect themselves against these criminals.
Do not answer calls you don't recognize, if legitimate business is to be done, other forms of contact are available. Primarily the US mail, you will have a written record of the communication, and a way to respond to the party contacting you. Though this is not infallible it greatly reduces the ability to become a victim to these types of scams.
