answered call, male with foreign accent stated he was calling from US crime report, I had him repeat where he was calling several times, then he said he was calling "from your [***]". I don't think this is a call from any US government.
never answer a phone call from a number you do not recognize. If they are legit they will leave a message. Also you can look the number up on your computer. Usually it will end up on a site like this.
End result - I get very few of these calls just by not answering. If you answer they will sell your number to another scammer as a valid number.
If you simply cannot resist answering - ask them to hold for a minute while you finish another call. Then check back and apologize for the other call taking longer than expected and ask them to please hold. See how long you can keep them on hold. A lot more fun than screaming at someone who does not care.
