call from Capital Consultants, trying to reach a relative. When I told them not to call me the yield at me threatened to file a suit against me. They would not provide contact information.
They called my house a few days ago and didn't leave a message, I Googled the name, and nothing came back in regards of a collection agency. So I'm thinking its a scam, and they are using a legit business name.
This is a total scam, I got suckered into paying these people, I tried to cal them back to get a PIF letter, phone number goes to a different company. Person I spoke too said that they took the number over earlier this month. So I would day ignore them, don't your going to have anyone show up and serve you.
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of the date of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
