The caller - Michael Wilson, is a scammer trying to steal your identity. He contacted my sister and asked her if she knew a woman by such and such name, and that she was trying to use her SSN# to do a rental agreement in Texas. He says he's with Dallas Investigations, Inc. He is not. I contacted the Dallas Co Clerk's office and the company doesn't even exist. When I asked him for his EIN, he said he didn't have one (any company that is created is issued one) and he said the license # he had was A08186. If you receive a call from him, contact the FTC immediately at 877-382-4357.

I have gotten 3 calls from Michael Wilson at 214-853-1060 who states he is with Dallas Investigations, Inc. Said he was calling regarding a Cindy Scott, which is not me. He gave me the same license number of A08186 and no EIN number. I checked the Texas Department of Public Safety's web site and looked up the investigator number of A08186. It belongs to a company called Veracity Research out of Argyle, TX. They do insurance investigations and fraud investigations and are a legitimate company. The TX Dept of Public Safety's web site had a listing of past and current employees for Veracity Researchand I found a listing for a Michael Wilson with a license that expired in 2006. They have no listing for a Dallas Investigations Inc. I called Veracity Research and advised them that this person is using their license number and the lady I spoke with in the PR department had no idea who Michael Wilson was. They advised that this was most likely a scam and to ignore the calls.
I also received a telephone call this past Monday from a man who stated his name as Mike Wilson with Dallas Investigations, Inc. asking for my grandson who does not live with me nor communicate with me. He kept asking me question about the grandson's mother, wife and grandmother and had their names as well. I gave him no information and have not received any further calls, but have been notified by someone that also got calls and called the telephone number back and have since found out that it is a scam. He is trying to get information such as your social security numbers and such. DO NOT give any information to anyone calling from this number or name and notify the police about the call.
