This is interesting...I got a call on my cell (AZ) late afternoon today from a number I did not recognize (312-348-6013), so I didn't answer. They did not leave a message. Later, I blocked my line and called the number and got a recording that said: "The number you have reached is not in service - this is a recording."
Tonight I got a call from 214-932-8643, exact same scenario. How is it that these people are able to call us, but we aren't able to call them back???!!!
This is what whatpages.com says:
(214) 932-8643
Type: Land Line
Provider: MCImetro, Ats
Location: Dallas, TX
Due to number portability, some numbers have been transferred to a new service provider.

I got a call from these guys yesterday and didn't answer but I tried to call them back and same thing happened to me the call was not a working #. Does anyone know how this can be possible because I would like to know.
Someone named Peter offering a discount and free estimate on house painting 'in our area'. He identified the right city but the 214 area code is apparently in Texas, and I live in Vancouver, BC. The toll free number he left (1-800-406-0014) shows up in a Google search as belonging to University First Class Painters.
A whisper on the other end says, "I know your number" and hangs up. When I call to find out who it is its a recorded message about the call time is 3 hours. I immediately hung up.
