Its a scam, they say they are a collection agency.  They will answer the phone until you pay them off, Remkey consultants is what it says.  I called yesterday to have them email my confirmation that it was paid in full and when I called the first time the was a funny voice like a clown or kid that said" We scamed you"!!!!!
Now, nobody will answer.. PLEASE REQUEST CASE NUMBER IF THEY CALL.... Don't give them any info.... Email me back please.. [email protected] if they call you back.  And get the guys name....

Posting your email address is just begging to be scammed again.  Debt collectors are required by law to use US mail, not email, fax, or even smoke signals.  The even worse part is that now you have paid them you are an easy mark and will receive many more calls both from them and from other criminals they sell you name to.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
