They called saying I took out a student loan for $1700. The "personal info" they had was very old public info found anywhere on the internet. I have a Master's Degree. There is no way I would have taken out an education loan for $1700. The lady was hostile saying they are going to sue me? If that is the case then why not tell me specific info about this bogus loan? Its a trap to try to get more specific info.
...we have received several calls from this number over past month. The "caller" ID was "UNK NAME"--generally this seems to refer to a SCAM operation. On one occasion, we mistakenly answered the call on an old phone without an ID, and the recorded voice of a woman stated that (woman's name) is a respondent in a law suit, and (whoever answered) must immediately have (his/her) attorney call (given number) to resolve the issue. The name she gave as the "respondent" was non-existent and incorrect, and there is no pending law suit in any format. It must be assumed this is a total SCAM, though it sounds "official." The area code (214) for this call is Dallas, Texas, but could well be switched from something else. Reporting the number to the national No Call Complaint online has not helped so far...
Has called me several times doesn't leave a message
Called my brother (who I have never listed on any contact info) brother finally answered and someone that did not speak clear English mispronounced my name looking for me!
