I also got a call from this number, exactly the same script as er'body else. Couch, sight unseen, PayPal, movers coming, sent money got confirmation... blah blah blah. Margaret is the name. I said cash only in person and then I said quit playin with people. No more contact.
"Margaret" contacted me as well to purchase a bed I posted on CL. Tried to insist on PayPal via my email. Luckily I googled the phone number which brought me to all of these postings. I was only going to accept PayPal if I were sent friends and family and using my phone #, Margaret continued to insist on having my email. I declined and informed that I am a 17 yr LEO, needless to say no further communication was made.
I'm getting text message from this number wanting to buy furniture on Craiglist and paying with Paypal. I thought Paypal was safe how does this scam work?
