Received a call from this number called it back and it said thank you for calling the american red cross, i give blood once in a while and I'm rewarded by being hounded to donate more
They are like the living dead...they just don't stop. I was the contact for my minor son when he donated through a high school blood drive. They call 2,3,4 times a day. In meetings, driving. I've told them to remove my name/number, my son is now an adult. They don't. I've told them he is away at college, they want his number. I love my kids, I won't sign them up for harassment. I blocked their 800 number on my phone, now they're calling with this number. Blocked it too. It's the only way. I regret having anything to do with them.
For those of you having trouble getting the red cross to leave you alone tell them you recently got a tattoo. In the state of PA they will not let you donate for a year and they will leave you alone until that year is up. Found that out last year when I got a tat for the first time. So that is a fairly effective way to get them to leave you alone.
Next time you donate tell them that they are not allowed to call you. That's what I did after they called me during a tornado warning while I was trying to herd my cats into the tornado shelter. It worked. They haven't called me since.
But please, I beg you, keep donating. They desperately need blood. I'm eligible again on Sep. 1 and have an appointment to donate on Sep. 2.
Unfortunately that won't help. I tried doing that, and the person told me they needed documented proof of the tattoo, including where the tattoo was done because some states have shorter allowances between getting a tattoo and donating blood. First time I've ever heard of a spam caller needing documentation to stop harassing you! I just block all their numbers now and rely on their site for scheduling donations.
