They claimed to be Anaheim Public Utilities, I knew from the Nigerian accent and Pennsylvania number it was a scam. I didnt even let him get far enough to ask me for money before telling him to go [***] himself..

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!
Claimed to be a billing representative for Southern California Edison (SCE), and that there was a scheduled disconnection on our account (retail location).... but, of course, they'd be happy to take payment now to stop that disconnection! Isn't that swell of them!
Luckily, my most recent bill had just shown up & was sitting next to me - showing that my account was, indeed, current. I told him so, and that my payments were made automatically every month.
He kept going, though! He said there was a problem processing my last payment... I cut him off saying "You're not with SCE".
He hung up. Ha.
The name on the caller ID was Joe Mendez.
I reported all this to SCE. They told me they take this kind of fraud VERY seriously and thanked me profusely for taking the time to call them with the info.
Joe Mendez on the caller ID called our business yesterday pretending to be from PECO with an order to disconnect the meter. Since our current bills were not even due yet, we asked for the supervisor. He said he was the supervisor. When we gave him more grief, he said he could see that we were good customers and he would "escalate" our info to the "General Manager" who would get back to us within the hour. When no one called, we called PECO directly. They thanked us for reporting this scam and told us our account was up to date. Don't even answer the call.
