This number also called us and hung up after we answered. No voice. I doubt it's really the police calling or even FOP.
Police agencies never raise money by calling on the phone. One in NY state had a name that sounded legitimate, but it was really seven guys, who had a club house on Long Island. They were legally allowed to say they were doing public education, because they'd send donors stop DWI stickers, with a badge-like sticker for their car window. It was supposed to help donors get out of speeding tickets. It was all fake. All that badge sticker did was announce to the world that they were scammed by phone. That "public education" DWI sticker allowed them to fund their beach house tax free, for 7.5 million bucks a year. Give only to police in uniform or to an address your local, state, or county police give you. Don't get scammed.
I have been being hassled by the Patriot News of Harrisburg recently and just that the same Bud Crouch call. No message, I didn't answer sure I'm not sure it was them.
