A woman from this company called The Chimney Cleaners called to solicit us for a chimney cleaning of our furnace chimney for $40.  She said a crew would be in our neighborhood on August 15th.  This is a ridiculously low price for a Certified Chimney Sweep to perform a qualified service like this and those on a fixed budget or financially challenged could be taken in by that price.  We live in an area, RIdley Township, where there is no allowed solicitation of services like this.  When I asked for the name of the company and website, the Office Manager, Carol Perizzi,  told me they have a branch in PA and are from Long Island, New York.  Then she directed me to search the PA Attorney General website for their company, The Chimney Service, which only means this company purchased a general contractor's license in PA, and I could not locate it doing a search for the name.  They have headquarters in Long Island and NO website, NO CSIA Certification Credentials and no way to get back to them if there is a problem with any work done, since they are transitory.  I asked them not to call again.
