A "Steve Potter" left a message on my home phone in New Mexico. They claimed we faced "reenforcment" action by the U.S. Treasury, and "ignorining this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury." Wooo, now I'm scared. "Stever" asked me to return call to 844-432-5964.
Message left purporting to be from US Tresaury, male voice with Indian accent - in other words, the same IRS scam. Interestingly, I received the identical message an hour before from an 844 #. Block and delete.
I called them and told them that I am from FBI. Your IP address and location is being tracked and the FBI will be there shortly. Do not try to run away or you will face serious consequences and felony charges.
Within minutes the number was closed
