I received a text saying that my MasterCard was locked, funny thing I don't have a MasterCard. The text went on to say that I should call that number to re-activated my account. It just sound like a huge scam to get your information.
I don't think that MasterCard would send anyone a text t
o let them know that their account was locked!
It is a scam. We just called Mastercard. They did not send any notice and found no evidence of fraud on our account. They took the phone number and are sending it to their fraud prevention group.
"Dear Mastercard customer we regret to inform you that your debit Card is locked. Please call 215-645-5195 to reactivate it." Mastercard wouldn't write like that, and wouldn't send a text. Plus I do not have or use a Mastercard "debit Card". I've had security calls before that are legit, and this one is a fraud.
I'm a cop and I got this message on my department phone! What a crock! They are trying to commit fraud and steal your account number! DO NOT RESPOND TO TEXTS FROM THIS NUMBER!!!
