I received a text message to my cell phone which said:
[email protected]: (HSBC Bank) Alert: Unauthorized activity recognized. DebitCard locked Dial 2157450569 and confirm personal details to remove restriction.

1. I don't have a HSBC debit card.
2. When I typed the number to dial into Google a Verizon landline came up in Philadelphia, PA 19152. I'm pretty sure HSBC is not doing business out of Philadelphia, PA.
3. I called the number with a *67 in front to block them from seeing my phone number. Of course it's only an outgoing message asking you to put in your debit card number. I hung up immediately but I guess the next message would have been to enter your PIN number.

I knew it's a scam. I'm going to call HSBC to let them know.

Just got a text saying that my hsbc debit card had some unauthorized charges and that it was being restricted for me to call this number 215-745-0569 to unlock the restrictions...called NO ANSWER...have blocked them from my cell phone

This is a phishing scam. They want you to call the number and reveal your debit card information so they can rob you. Don't call, and let your friends/family know to avoid this.
