I have caller ID ,when i returned the call, It rang several times, saying this call was not important and the next vailable rep. will return. After looking it up online, It seems i discovery some kind of scam. wish i can be taken off their list now.
Called and asked for my partner. Did not give any information, when I asked who it was or what this pretained to they replied no message. When asked who this was he replied "state parole office" seems unlikely. Also registered as Bristol PA
Called 3 times today 6/22/09.... called a few weeks ago about the State Troopers Insurance Fund or something of the like. I agreed (dumb) and they sent me a letter in the mail for a donation. Seemed reputable, but I decided not to donate. I just felt weird about it. Ever since I agreed to donate they mailed me twice and have called numerous times. I just let the vmail get it (they never leave a message) or just hang up on them. Don't donate money to someone you don't trust or feel weird about, most likely its a scam.
I recieved one phone call. I said hello, and there was some static on the other end. I am glad I decided to look this number up... Now I'll know not to answer it.
I received a call from this number a few days ago when I answered nobody responded. I called the number today (Sunday) and after several rings I got a message saying "Thank you for calling State Appeals. Our recent call to you is no emergency and we will contact you again." I looked up State Appeals and although this particular number did not show up several others did along with messages from people having the same problem. They appear to be out of San Antonio, Texas using different phone numbers thoughtout Texas and Arizona. Appears they have moved on to the East coast. From what others in Texas and Arizona have written it appears to be a scam.
I'm thinking about reporting them to the PA Attorney Generals Office if they ever talk to me.
