I received a call telling me I had a problem with my computer and they lead me to the event viewer with a review of critical and warnings on my machine  I am well aware of the issues on my machine since I am an IT professional and regularly review event manger for any issues on my machine. I have two NIC card with reserved IP address an it reports a false positive in DHCP since I do not require an IP assignment and task scheduler has delay issues with two Microsoft tasks
They tried to convince me I had a serious problem and connect to their web site via windows search, Rule of thump never go to untrustworthy websites. This is  a scam to send you to a site with possible harmful code, viruses, malware, or hacking tools to steal your personal information.  There registration does not contain an owner and there registered from panama but their location is in India

I received a call from this number, the guy was trying to convince me he was from Microsoft and I have a serious viral infection on my computer. after leading me around looking at files on my computer he said I needed to go to www.ammyy.com, which is a site for setting up remote access. On Ammyy.com home page is a red warning statement about a scam that are people calling saying they are from ammyy or window's IT and do not download their program . I hung up after I told the guy ,well some not so nice things.   HANG UP ON THESE PEOPLE. It's a scam to get remote access to your computer, get a credit card  number or anything else they can get .
I was suspect from the beginning of this call and asked for his name , phone number, IP address which he answered with all phony information but it sounded good. This guy was very convincing do not be fooled.

Tried calling the number back and got a message that it is a non-working number.  However, it keeps dialing me.

Just like the above reports, an Indian-accented voice told me he was calling to fix my computer.  As I do not have a personal computer, I immediately realized that it was a scam, so I started playing with them.  I thanked him profusely for calling me to fix my computer and asked him if he needed my IPO address.  Naturally, he immediately said yes, so I told me to write it down carefully because it was complicated.  After having him wait 15 seconds, I let him know that my computer's IPO address was www.eatshitasshole.  He asked me if that was .com or .org.  By then my wife and I were laughing so hard we had to hang up.  Try that on anyone who call you with a scam.  It turns the tables on them and makes them waste time. :)

My comment is the same as everyone else's comment, an Indian accented or Middle Eastern male voice. Telling me about errors and warnings that are making my computer run slow and that it could cause windows operating system to not function properly. Which i know is false since my computer is custom built and only a week ago i recently did a fresh format and install of windows 7 along with a new Hard drive and video card, also the number appeared on my caller ID as a PA Cell Phone. . He Claimed to be from Windows IT. So to entertain myself and see exactly what he wanted me to do i used an old paper weight laptop. He directed me to press the Windows key + R to bring up the "run" window then type in www.ammyy.com. then had me download/open the remote console program from ammyy.com then showed me some more stuff and told me the reason for and how we were going to fix these errors and warnings. afterwards he told me that i would have to purchase a one time/ lifetime application in order to fix everything. the price was $149.00 after he told me that i closed the program and hung up on him as for the laptop ill monitor it and see what happens, either way if hurts the laptop or not doesn't matter it was only collecting dust.
