Got a call from an automated voice system, its in spanish, ill translate...
"Hello, you are the winner number X(can be any number from 1-10). To collect your prize, press 1"
Heres what happens after pressing 1...
A person answers speaking Brazilian saying "From what number are you calling, sir?"(in brazilian).
I hang up.
Im on Virgin Mobile.
I looked into my account and no charge was made and the phone call was not registered.
Just got a call from this number and it was exactly like the other comments stated, FROM 2 YEARS AGO! This is ridiculous. They obviously haven't even updated their wacked out system if its still the same static nonsense.
Received a phone call from 215-944-8989 on my t-mobile cellphone at 9:00pm (YES nine at night!) eastern time. Didnt recognize the call so ignored and let it go to voicemail. No message was left.
215-944-8989 left no msg.
617-479-:::: may be a legitemate bus. call
related to info verication,i.e., automated
questionaire from CMS MEDICAREor ur
HMO. If u do pik up, u soon recognize
that it's an info security/anti-identity theft
measure probably related to a recent
transaction conducted entirely via phone
without your physical presence or
signature, i.e., only your voice on tape,
which can be insufficient for a third party
such as a fed agency like CMS MEDICARE
that haz transactions audited for
anti-identity theft security reasons.
Since hiring hundreds to conduct
these "surveys" is cost-prohibitive ,
you instead get a friendly automated
call. Prob is telling the friendly from
the unfriendly number when the
legit entity has outsourced the call
to an unknown #.
