Phishing call trying to get information about our company IT security systems. Claimed to be an MBA student doing research. Called them back and got a generic switchboard who could not (or would not)give detail on who called.
Telemarketing call looking for somebody in computer security. Whoever is selling these "sales leads" to the telemarketers is using data that's at least 10 years stale; nobody at my phone number matching their "lead". But despite the DNC, various telemarketers continue to call, one or two new ones per week.
Interestingly, 30 seconds from this telemarketing call, another out-of-state call came in, too fast for me to jot down the number. (I didn't answer.) And 60 seconds after that, yet another call, this time from 702-546-9576. This latter number is in Nevada, possibly Las Vegas; the number reported in this submission is from Philadelphia, PA. The coincidence is possible, of course; but I find it much more likely that all three numbers originated from the same auto-dialer, arguably located in neither Nevada nor Pennsylvania nor wherever the second claimed to hail from.
