They called this morning at 3:37. As others have stated it scared us to death thinking it was a family member sick or something. Could not fall asleep after that! Not a happy camper! They know they are breaking the law!
We got the illegal call (in every possible way illegal) just like everyone else in the wee hours (12:25am when we were sound asleep). Talk about a heart-pounding experience! I wonder if any company would seriously do this to generate business; I suspect it's more like a social-engineering/spam/phishing attempt to see who has "live" phone lines they would actually answer. I also wonder if it's some kind of VoIP hack - we are on a VoIP system and I know those can be easily hacked.
