I just received the same message about a dining set. he said he was sending a certified bank check. unfortunately, I sent my name and address before I researched, but have since sent another text saying I will not be selling to him. Got suspicious after I received another out of state text about my item.
I just received the same thing what an [***]. im glad I looked his number and found this site I had a boat motor and he to a T gave me the excact same bs line about the cashiers check and my name is Michael garner. Cant trust anything anymore

Got an almost identical response when I put a motorcycle up on Craigslist.
Got this text a day later:
" I got your text am ok with the price and everything I'll will send a Certified Bank Check in a 2 day USPS mail for payment and I'll arrange for a pick up after the check clears at your bank and you have your cash. I'll need your name and address for the check to be sent to., I await your txt .Michael Garner "
Seemed to good to be true, so I started googling and would up here. Glad I did.
I've since replied telling I'd prefer to do a wire transfer bank to bank. We'll see where that goes... :)
