Received a call asking if I was that person, said they were calling in regard to a reference number. Said isn't this the last for digits of my social security number. I told them no. I would never disclose any information over a phone. And as you all have listed did not list their name. I hung up on them.
Received call. Said I owe a $600 debt to a company I have never done business with. I asked them to send me a mail copy. Indicated they could only email statements after payment made. I check my credit report weekly. I have a near perfect score.and no bad records but somehow I took out a payday loan and owe it? Scam!!! Don't pay them anything they don't want to follow FTC guidelines. If I owe a debt (which is about a 1% chance) you are required to provide debt detail in writing. "We have mailed you before" is not a valid excuse. Especially considering I have never received anything.
This number has called me 11 times in November, as of the 14th. At the beginning of this number calling me, I never use to answer it thinking it was a political robo call. I answered the call for the 1st time this weekend thinking it was my Uber driver. I did not give any information. The man on the phone said they have dealt with me before and had my name, but a completely different address and date of birth. I told him that I'm not the person they are looking for and have never spoken to them before. The number called me again, I answered to tell them to stop calling, but nobody was on the other end and it disconnected. I have blocked the number through my Verizon account.
