i did some on-line
job applications and clearly saw the box that asked do you want to further your education. Even though I checked no, they obviously do not care--that is what the calls are about they want half of your money you will get to go to school--they do NOT want to give you a job...what a scam!!!! It should be illegal.I am going to put them on my do not call registry number list. They will get fined if they call again.
I got a phone call identified on my caller ID as "academic advisor" from this number, too. It was after I, like others, put in an application for employment. I put mine through snag-a-job. Now there may not be any connection, but I have just started looking for a part-time job online-and this is my first and only one so far. Less than ten minutes later, I received another call which came up on my caller Ias "out of area". I do not answer phone calls from people I don't know anymore as I have had enough of people calling and bothering you repeatedly with things you don't want to buy or suspiciously trying to get money or info, etc. The 216-282-5538 number also came up, upon research, as 100% spam and not a valid number; also as "may have "spoofed caller ID". At any rate, people may want to watch this number and exercise caution if deciding to respond and sign up for anything.
It was Snag-a-job, within day after I halfway filled out an application from them I received a call from this number among others...getting very annoying.
Signed up yesterday with Jobs.com - unchecked the box that says I'm interested in being contacted about educational courses - today I've gotten calls from two different "continuing education" telemarketing companies. Never got them before - go figure!
I keep getting these calls from various numbers and it's mostly ohio and south carolina. I used snagajob and monster recently while I was looking for work. Nice to know these crappy websites are not only NOT helping me find better work, but they're selling my phone number to some moron that's calling me at 1130pm!!! I was in bed. I work at 5am. ARGH! I'm getting these calls mostly after 9pm!!!
