No one goes to jail or is arrested or has warrants served on them for being in ordinary civil debt. We do not have debtors prisons in the US. Do not let debt scammers fool you. Read up on your rights.
You are correct! The persons owing the debt are not arrested, but are taken to the whipping post, and suffer a beating, until they agree to pay their debt.
