Another spoofing telephone number, phishing robo call. This one came to my smartphone. Same blatant attempt to steal one's personal information and name with the "female" robo call starting "Hi! My name is Laura with your Credit Card Service". I choose not to use credit cards and have a debt to pay off... therefore there is no "Credit Card Service".
I imagine if I had stayed on the line a "live" person would have come one to try to scam my personal information, financial information such as bank accounts and then steal it to use as Identity Theft like all the other calls that constantly come through to my smartphone and my home landline. It is getting very irritating and annoying.
Once again this calls from the Cleveland area. The number with the 973 prefix in this area is of the Verizon numbers. Only the spoofed telephone number of 216-973-2134 comes up as the caller.
Please do NOT give any personal information to these criminals! It is not a "prank call" and since 800Notes do not have a Scam option as the call type, I have left it maked as Unknown even though I get quite a few of these calls over time and I DO know the call type to be a "Scam".
I have used my Call Control App to block this number for future calls from this number, but the spoofed number will only change once again.
