Don't even bother answering. Similar experience with above complainants. They call from several different phone numbers, and somehow get past phone blocking. They tell me they are calling because my computer is having problems and I need their service to repair it. I asked for a return number; got an 800 number belonging to another company when I called (with the intention of reporting them to the FTC). They claim they are physically located in NY. Web inquiries about these sorts of calls yield warnings that these scammers are located throughout the globe and can hold your computer ransom if you give them access to it. If you don't pay, you can lose files and have to pay a technician to restore to factory settings.
Keep getting calls from 217-622-4709 (was using a diff # last week) saying they are from Microsoft and they want to help me with my computer that it has a virus and has been sending them a message about it. I have repeatedly told them to stop calling me and that I don't own a computer but they still keep calling. I have even cussed them out and they still call. This has been going on for about a month now. Being nice or being rude does not seem to stop them.
Said he was calling from "Windows".... Microsoft doesn't make house calls. Nice try scammers!! They call numerous times, even when asked to stop! The first time I told them "we don't have a computer, tablet, or anything else that uses Windows" and that didn't work. This last time I was fed up after he said he was calling about viruses and errors in my computer, to turn it on & he'd walk me through the repair so I said, "IF my pc was telling you this, then you would know that it is ALREADY on!!" and I hung up.....they still call! Going to try to block the number again..
