Got a call and the display showed this number. I answered and no one said a word. I finally hung up. I blocked my number and called it back a few minutes later. Says the number is not in service. So someone is spoofing this phone number. I carefully called twice to make certain I did not get the number wrong. And no legit person calls on a spoofed number. A spoofed number is something criminals are now able to do. They somehow put in a phone number they want to display even though its not their real number. The federal government put out a site on the problem. You can, of course, report this to the FCC but what can they do? If I saw that my time was not wasted and the FCC actually went after criminals spoofing their numbers I would absolutely take the time.
