Caller named Abby (she sounded fat and like she was eating) left a message saying that I had an outstanding speeding ticket from Illinois. I've never been to Illinois. The call back number Abby left was for CCP at 217-717-4287. Looking that number up on this website reveals it's a scam collection agency. Abby's Caller ID was 210-787-2433. Just added two new numbers to my Block List! Also, trying to find Abby on Facebook since I bet she makes a mean pasta!

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes. The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

"Circuit Clerk debt " OK that is a new one never heard of that type of debt before. I see you are one of the criminals working for this organization. You really should have tried to get an honest job instead of trying to steal money from people. Your mother, if you know her, must be so proud to have a criminal for a daughter.
