It's a fraudulent call. Two calls today (Feb. 23. 2016). Both saying something wrong with our computer. When told we have no computer he insisted. After the second call my wife told him he was a fraud and that we were calling the police. He hung up. Our caller ID said Siegel, Ill.
I have rec'd several phone calls the last few days from this number. A man with a foreign accent claiming to be from Microsoft is talking. When I call the# back, a recording comes saying it's disconnected . How do you report these scammers !?
Got a call today (2-12-2016), No name on caller id, but a live voice said 'hello - hello' several times. Very noisy background so obviously a call from a phone bank. Suspect either a political call or scam. Whatever - I do not answer any call from a number I do not recognize. And if we would unite and make this a firm practice, I believe many of these scam and nuisance calls would stop. In fact, I think it's the only way to stop them.
I received a call from 217-844-4499 twenty minutes ago. Caller ID said it was from Sigel, IL. Male caller with definite foreign accent--he tried to make it sound American but failed--identified himself as James and said he was calling from Microsoft. I interrupted him and asked him to take my number off his list. I hung up.
I googled the number and found it was the number of the offices of a health practitioner in Sigel, IL. Her name and address were also given.
