Actually, my caller ID said "Elvaston" Illinois, as a couple people below also report, but I, too, at first thought it said "Evanston." (And no, I did not answer the call, nor did voice mail or a machine.)
I just looked up "Elvaston." There really is such a place, which had a population count of 165 in the 2010 census.
Cute. These people show you right away that their intent is manipulative, by wanting you to think "Evanston."
they say they are from windows and my computer has been sending them error messages that they need me at my computer so they can get access to it . please do not fall for this it is a scam they get in your computer and take over and get all your info. wish I new how to send them a virus instead
Woman with heavy Indian accent called me mentioning it's about my windows computer. I told her I'm on the do not call list. She said, LISTEN...very loudly, claiming it's not a solicitation, trying to be insistent and make me listen to her about my computer.
I just hung up before she could try to scheme any further.
