This was a telemarketer trying to sell web design services. When asked for the name of the company they were calling from, they stated they were "a web design company".
We got exactly the same thing - except the boss is out of town - heavily accented voice on the line.
We are in British Columbia and the call display says it's originating from Minnesota - these telemarketers waste so much of our time when you get several different ones calling in a day.
Same thing here, asked to speak with the owner, told them they were retired. He indicated that he was a website designer and wanted to build us a new website. I told him I just built one a couple of months ago and not interested in getting another. Unfortunately he must have been using a really bad phone because he kept switching to his speaker phone then back to the handset then back to speaker making it even more difficult to understand him with his heavy accent.
received similar call - told east indian accented caller that i had a local provider - as i was politely asking him to remove my number from their list since i'm on a government do not call list, he hung up...
