These are the agents (spoofing numbers in USA) from overseas who's only purpose is to ascertain "live" USA phone numbers which they will sell. It's big business, they first locate live telephone numbers - those which are answered , the more "Live" the better, answered by a human who will also call back. Then they sell these "live" numbers by the hundreds of thousands to the *real* scam artists, aka "telemarketers" who will perform the dirty-work of stealing identities , racking up credit card debt and empting bank accounts.
Called my place of business. Seems to be a financial company. When I told the lady that I did not have time to take the call, but could she is welcome to send me an email with their information she talked over me, then when I asked her to please remove our number from their calling list, she asked me to "Keep it professional".. My response was that I was keeping it professional by asking her to remove the number from her calling list and I hung up. Thenn when I tried to call the number back to get a name, I was on hold forever.
I guess they decided to abandon "Qucik" since they couldn't spell it. CID now says "Crown Point IN." Actual name of the firm that is calling is not displayed. Pretty good indication that it's a scam. They called our repair business a few minutes before 5:00. We noted the CID info and just let it ring. Call went to voicemail. Caller hung up about halfway through voicemail greeting.
