I got the same call and called it back seeing it was a 219 area code, not hat far from me). When I called an answering service answered and said I was caller number 4 and to stay on the line my call should be answered in 3 minutes. This went on for about 3 minutes then I was caller number 3 and that went on for about 4 minutes, then I was caller number 2 (another 3 minutes) and said it would be answered in about 15 seconds, then I was number 1 and my call would be answered in 15 seconds ( that went on for another 3 minutes) then the recording said "goodbye" and hung up. Got to be a scam. Maybe just long enough to dial into my computer? Maybe long enough to bill my comcast an additional large fee? what do you think. I am reporting them to comcast immediately.
This number phones me repeatedly, then hangs up when I answer. My Caller ID shows this as a phone number in my area code.
I phoned them back but got only an automated response claiming I was on hold. The machine told me which number in queue I was and the estimated hold time. The hold time is about three minutes per number in line (thrid in line, second in line, etc.) regardless of what the machine says. Finally I was disconnected after the machine said, "Goodbye," after keeping me on as "first in line" for three or four minutes.
