Very annoying and upsetting experience. My mother is in hospital with no ability to use colostomy products herself. Hospital provides and cares for these needs exclusively. Family does not provide this care. An annoying hospital employee insisted on giving us a presentation of the colostomy care. The presentation is in 2 parts. The first part consisted of her barging into my mom's room and insisting we listen. The second part is where we would "electively" meet her at the room to assist in changing the bowel bag. We declined participating in the second part because there is no plan to care for her at home. Despite not completing this, the hospital employee took my cell number from hospital records and now i am receiving call after annoying call from idiot sales people hassling me during this stressful, difficult time while my mom is in hospital. To add insult to injury, the reps always assume they are talking with my mom (who is incapacitated in hospital). I am receiving many urgent and important calls from legitimate surgeons, doctors and nursing staff and now i have to try to screen my calls so as to not answers these marketing calls. I have already told a rep from the company that I do not want to be receiving product or calls/etc, however, they keep calling. This company should not be in business.
sorry about the above callers experience but I believe that the company was just trying to help. I am a doctor and my mother was also in the hospital with a new ostomy. I can understand both sides. It is very upsetting for the patient not to have adequate supplies and the optimal pouching system for each patient is unique and may change over time. The person who called us was very helpful and offered to send supplies to try out.
I visited their website looking for some information. I signed up for a quarterly newsletter but not any ostomy supplies. They've called me about 6 times, all before 9:00 AM. I've blocked their number but this is the 2nd or 3rd one they've used.
