Received a call wanted to know the company address. When I asked who shed like to speak with she said she wanted to know the address of the company. Said she was from the chamber of commerce. Scary to think about these trolls.
Received a call from 224-249-3346 on a business line and answered. When I answered at first I received static on the line and then a woman came on asking me to verify my company name and tried verifying address. I asked who was calling and the woman said that she was with the Chamber of Commerce (note, she was not specific which township). Advised that I was not providing her with any information and she hung up.
For several days, I have received as many as three calls from this number. When I haven't answered, they left no message.. After receiving two calls today, I tried to call them but got a busy signal. .As a psychotherapist, I have the issue of a patient trying to call but not wanting to leave a message. Most of the time this isn't an concern but it can be if it is a patient who has suicidal tendencies. I can't always recognize the phone number or they could be calling from anther number. Now I know it isn't a patient but some type of scam.
They just called my business and the woman asked if she reached -company name- so I said "yes, how can I help you?", she then said "I have to update your information for the chamber of commerce, can you verify the address for me at-" then I politely interrupted to ask "I'm sorry, which chamber of commerce?" and she replied "The American Chamber of Commerce" (doesn't exist). I said "just a moment please" and put her on hold while I googled that, but she hung up right away.
Same issue as the rest; she asked the name of the company and to verify the address. I asked her twice who was calling and she hung up on me. When you try calling her number, it rings once and then goes blank.
On caller ID, the number shows up as "Algonquin Call".
