Got a text from this number asking if my bed cover for my truck was still available for sale. He told me he was going to send me a check for the amount of the bed cover, inconvenience fees for holding it, and the amount for the mover because the mover doesn't have a checking account. I was dumb and gave him my address because it sounded kind of legit. Then another number with the same area code texted me basically the same thing at 3:44 in the morning. Posted on Craigslist and got essentially the same message as Ed and Donald, above. Glad I took the time to do reverse number search. What I want to know is where the profit comes in, if, indeed, the person delivers a certified check, or is the scam simply to get the seller's name and address info for future sales pitches/sell to advertisers, etc.
