Just got an SMS right after posting ad for my car. Asked a few non specific questions, avoided mine and then tried the old paypal to [email protected] so i can pay you right away trick. I don't know how anyone thinks this is legit.
Just got the same scam request this minute in KW area of Ontario. Much of the convo on the text was fishy. She didn't want to see the car. She wanted to just make payment via pay pal. I said I don't do paypal and she said it is the safest way and would pay right away and arrange for pick up after payment is received. when I asked to call her to talk, she said due to the nature of her job she was unable to talk on the phone and only text. Same email as you.
Got the same text from same number with same email address saying they would buy my car and to please confirm by removing listing and they would pay by paypal not sure what the scam is exactly but just going by these posts

He said his name was Alex Frank - email address: [email protected]
Same story - wishes to purchase car (unseen) via PayPal.
