No entries yet?  Then I'll be the first.  This was a scam robocall, earlier than most of them call in the morning.  It seems I've gotten a few other new scam numbers this week.  I doubt they're getting more inventive, most of them lack imagination or cleverness.  Don't answer this number.

Same here. Calls way too early in the morning. They're not supposed to call before 9. I sent them to voice mail. They didn't leave a message.

Lord help me, I was in a funny mood so I called them back out of curiousity.  It's one of those back brace scam groups.  You know, the ones from TV that solicit you and say they're returning your call, as if you inquired first, hoping they can either gaslight you, or rope you into a sale.  So I will tell you what I told her, before she realized I was toying with her and she hung up on me.

I worked for orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons a very long time.  The braces advertised on TV are crap.  Shoddy materials and workmanship.  Secondly, if you are in enough trouble to really need a brace, then you need to see a doctor for appropriate diagnosis and a treatment plan:  anything less than requires a doc, can be managed with heat, cold and OTC analgesics.  Thirdly, if you expect insurance to pay for a brace of any sort, you're gonna need to see a doctor anyway, or he won't write the scrip for it, otherwise it will come out of your pocket (and theirs are not, worth yiur momey).  Fourth, if you wear an unnecessary brace, it can weaken and imbalance your muscles further, and cause more harm than good:  gentle stretching and some appropriate exercises are what you need, to strengthen the painful area, and don't do those without being taught what to do, either.

And be aware that all orthopaedists already have their own orthotists and physical therapy departments, who will get you really good-fitting, appropriate DMEs (Durable Medical Equipment) if you actually need it, for less, and insurance will then cover it because you have been to a doc.  They always have what you need and will teach you how to use it, and how to stretch and exercise without hurting yourself.  In other words, "do no harm," and get better.  The girls and boys in the scam company have (maybe) high school educations, no medical training, and their job is to sell you something, not to get you healed and back to your lives.  The physical therapist cares about you, these scammers don't.

People like these, who prey upon suffering folks that have trouble affording a doctor or don't think they need one, worry me. Their stuff is very poor quality, and they are hoping you will diagnose yourself and waste your money.  Please, don't do it, or you will have a fool for a patient.  If you are that bound and determined to try a brace anywhere on your body, get one from a local brick-and-mortar store, and you can return it if you don't like it or it doesn't fit or help.  Stay away from ohine sales braces.
