Bill Collector. She tried to talk fast about a bill with Verizon. I cut her off before she could get far.and said "That bill was paid a long time ago, so your records are incorrect. I'll check this with the credit bureaus. Good bye." and hung up.
That's how you have to handle a bill collector because there are frauds out there, and there are valid ones who will act crazy with you. YOU do not have to put up with them. Say something short & direct, & hang up. When you have the means to pay off old debts, LOOK UP your credit report & ONLY pay those that are valid.
This verizon bill was an invalid debt, and I suspect fraud on this call.
Received a call from this # and he tried to verify my DOB, address and last 4 digits of SS#. He had all three wrong and then when I started to ask questions he said he must have the wrong person and hung up.
