225-532-4283 just called our business. Caller ID showed ups as Albany LA. Because we're located in Louisiana and we deal with a travelers, we have to answer all calls that come in. Knew it was going to be a spam call though, as Albany is a little town with a population of roughly 1000 people (have a friend who is from there). Answered the call and the tell-tale BLOOP sound was heard. Then the illegal robocall recording kicked in. It was calling us about Student Debt. You could press 1 for two questions to see if you qualify, or press 9 to opt-out (like I believe that one). Pressed 1. First question asked if I was as citizen. Pressed 1 for No (I am, but they don't know that). Second question asked if I had any student loan debt. Pressed 1 for No (I don't.) Call suddenly hung up. Blocking the number.
And then like clockwork, the same scam company just called us back a few minutes later from a different possibly spoofed number 504-535-5921. Reporting the calls and blocking the numbers.
"Hello, this is Todd from GE home security. Can you hear me okay?" Said recorded message 3 times and then hung up. I called back and the recorded message said a survey had been completed and to press "9" to be removed from their list. When you press "9" it says your number has been removed from the list and the line disconnects
The call came from the same exact small town that we are located in, so we thought nothing of answering this call, per the norm. Well, it was a robocall from some kind of marketing survey, pressed 9 to be removed from their call list... so it called us AGAIN 5 minutes later.
Very very strange.
