Locked up Chrome browser, couldn't close that tab, couldn't switch tabs, message on-screen said call a certain number, any attempt to close Windows would destroy PC. They claimed to be in possession of my credit card #s, and other personal stuff, most of which I don't even have.
What to do? Control-alt-delete brings up menu, select task-manager from menu. Very first thing listed was Chrome browser. Click on it, then click button at bottom that says something like: close program, close process, whatever.
When u re-start Chrome, do not allow it to restore, it'll just bring up the same tab, locking u up.

Go ctl-h or bring up ur history from menus. Open up tabs u wanna see. u might open, accidentally, the very tab that caused the freeze. Go back to task-manager, repeat closing Chrome, don't re-open that site again. They give u a # to call, they're the very people who caused the lock-up. Don't call them! They are there to lighten ur wallet, maybe infect ur PC w/bad things, pretending to help u. Don't pay these criminals to cause more problems.

I called the toll free 866- # the crooks said to call. I was just playing w/them. Watch it--don't go calling people if u don't know what part of world they're in. It could be a $10/min call.

i called them several times, just to mess w/ them. They tried to call me back a couple times, caller ID
showed them as LivePCConnect at 229/233-4567.
They have NOT ruined ur PC, they have not gained any personal info, its a bluff, don't panic. If u didn't understand my instructions, call someone who knows what I've said. I'm no expert, I needed someone to help me the first time. Its happened twice now.

Once I called them, told them as soon as they answered, let me get my credit card. Idiot held on 11 minutes before I hung up. If u can, u should mess w/these people, too. Make their game unpleasant. If enough honest people fought back.....
