The IRS does not initiate contact via a phone call, they first send postal letters.
The IRS does not threaten arrest.
The IRS does not demand immediate payment over the phone.
The IRS does not ask for Credit card, Debit card, or prepaid money card information, at all.
It is a scam ran by offshore criminals attempting to trick you into sending them money.

Received a computer-generated message advising me I was under investigation by the IRS, and I should call them back immediately. Scam. If you research, it appears the number is a mobile phone registered to a "Shane Decoteau" of "Valdosta, Georgia."
The number is probably spoofed, or your source might have out-of-date data.
If you aren't going to post where your "research" found this name, so that others here can verify it, don't post the name at all.
I received this spam call before...probably 10 times from various different numbers. This time I played along with them and told them I just got back from the IRS and arranged a payment plan with them.I glad you called me so soon.Let me go get my credit card and pay this this off.I left for about two minutes and I knew they would still be there.I said are you ready for my credit card number? They promptly yes...I told them to go **ck their goats and I was promptly was disconnected. But at least I had the satisfaction of getting in the last word.
