I must admit I am lucky. I don't expect, nor would I get, emergency phone calls from family, or friends. I have the ringer turned off on the phone & I just check the numbers that have called once in a while. Don't have voice mail & I don't want it. Not for everyone, but works for me.
I got a call from this number. A woman then asked to speak to me asking for me by my first name. She told me she wanted to ask me some questions on news events. I asked her who she was calling for, what organization. She avoided telling me this and said she was calling with a group of callers. I told her I would not answer any of her questions because she was not telling me who she was calling for, and I ended the conversation.
Got a call asking to speak with my wife from this number. Caller id says "Fremont MI". I picked up and didn't say a word,….after 10 seconds a woman came on the line and said, "Hello?" I immediately asked, "Who's Calling?" she asked to speak to my wife. I said, "This is her husband 'Sam' can I help?" she said she was calling to ask to speak with (my wife's name), and when I asked what this was about, She said, "We're calling to ask her some questions about a study that is in the news." I told her, politely, that our afternoon had been rudely interrupted with her call and to please take us off her list. She said, "okay" and we hung up. She would not identify anything further regarding who she was --INCREDIBLY RUDE!!! I called the number back, to see if there was any identifying trait, and it was simply a voice mail that silently picked up. When I pushed the pound key on our phone it disconnected the call. When did the phone become a means for predators to intrude on people's lives!?!?!? These people need to be shot.
CAll from this number. Asked for me by first name. Asked who she was and she passed over that to tell me she was doing a survey. So I asked if it was a political call and she answered yes . I hung up . they called 5 times in the last 2 day. What a pain.
