I wouldn't keep them on the line. they are not going to waste MY time which is way more important that whomever this scam person is. besides I heard if you keep a scam person on the phone, the more chances they can get control of your privacy. trust me, don't answer; report on the do not call list. if they keep calling they will be charged a fee and you could also receive money if they keep calling you but you have to put the number on a do not call list first.
Just got the same call....they called me yesterday but I ignored it but I looked it up on here. So today when they called I answered it. Heavy Indian accent guy calling saying he is with Windows support and my computer is downloading some things from the internet and it needs to be fixed. I told him I do not even use windows. I use Linux. He hung up on me....imagine that! Good reason to use Linux but even if I used Windows I would never fall for this scam.
Must be a lot of people getting scammed this way. Wake up people....Microsoft (aka Windows) would never call you!
Just got the same call. Heavily accented Indian man 'Mac' and he wanted to fix my computer because it was sending lots of data and only they could fix it remotely for me. Total scam and when I said I will take it to my own engineer, he said it can't be done by anyone but them. Don't do it.
I have received a call from this number a couple of times the past couple of days. One time I answered it and no one was there, I answered one time and was driving-using blue tooth, and same thing-got someone with a heavy Indian accent stating he worked for Windows and was responding to a request for repair-I informed him there was nothing wrong with my computer and he hung up. Got another call a couple of hours later and didn't answer. Just got another call with the same person-I informed him to take my name off his list and as I started to say there was nothing wrong with my computer he hung up. I have now blocked his number. As someone that has been previously married to a computer programming and currently dating an IT guy, I am aware that all they are doing is trying to is pfish for information and steal passwords and bank account info. Please no one fall for this scam--you know when you call for help-don't accept help from someone that reaches out to you without you doing the initial outreach.
I get calls from them twice a day. i have told them multiple times to stop calling. i have had a male and female (both with foreign accents) call. i am so close to calling the police
These guys are really bad at scamming people. Heavy Indian accent. First guy was new and learning the script. Repeatedly asked questions to get him off script. Said my computer ID number came up on their system. Asked him for the number on his screen. After each of us asked the other for the number several times he gave a BS number. Asked him where he is located. He said New York, New Jersey. Then gave a phone number 845-302-759-682. A few too many numbers but he confirmed this was his number anyways. After saying this is BS and not giving him info a second guy came on the phone. Asked him if he works at windows. Said no. Worked for WinMac Solutions a contractor for Windows. He asked for the info again. Even though I was at home I said my IT Department handles issues like this, that he should talk to our I Department. He said No they would not be able to help. I said I could get fired if I let some outside the IT Department handle something like this on my computer. He said Okay, and asked for the information again. I said my boss wouldn't be happy. He said okay. At that point I said look I'm not giving you guys any information I just wanted to see how much information you would give my and told them to F-off. Then the third guy came on and fired off a barrage of poor put together curse words. All-in-all and entertaining 14 minutes. Please, Please, Please don't give these guys any information they are nothing but scammers.
