Wanted my credit card acct. # & exp. date. Claims to reduce my interest rate on credit cards. My research shows Credit Services of America & caller claims to be from Orlando, FL. Federal Trade Commission says that they have been a scam in 2001. Told them to call back after I researched them. They are also or have been known to call themselves First Credit Alliance. I have no proof that the two are related but seemed strange enough to get a call out of nowhere. Also, to know my credit card balances may be over $3000 was a little alarming. They said they got my name off of a list. People should find out who is giving out your name on a list to be harrassed by this so called company. They also would not give me a physical address as they were not permitted to reveal that information. Too much mystery for this chick.
This number was on my caller ID. I have no credit cards or balances........so why call me? And as for not being allowed to reveal their whereabouts, that is an out right lie. Maybe the people who employ her tell her that but that because they don't want to get busted.
Just received a call from this number and found it a little odd that they just needed to verify information my personal information. When I asked a second time who they were the woman said that they were from Card Services lowering Visa credit card interest rates and wanted to see if I qualified. Found it very strange that she would ask what my credit card number was. Luckily, I did not have the card on me and told her she would have to call back in a few days.
So, glad I looked this up and found out it was a scam!
I recieved a call yesterday. I let my answering machine--which I bought a few weeks back and I connected my landline phone into--handle it. I played that automated message about that credit card nonsense before I even deleted that message from my answering machine.
